Sweet and Spicy Pear and Prosciutto Crostini with La Sauvagine Cheese
Ingredients
30 ml (2 tbsp) honey
2 ml (1/2 tsp) red pepper flakes
2 large slices of thick, rustic bread
125 g of Alexis de Portneuf La Sauvagine Cheese
1 pear, cored and sliced
4 thin slices of prosciutto
Coarsely chopped toasted almonds
Fresh basil leaves (optional)
Directions
Set the oven rack to the middle position and turn the broiler on.
In a small bowl, warm up the honey for a few seconds in the microwave, then stir in the red pepper flakes. Set aside while you prepare the toasts.
Toast the slices of bread. Set the toasted bread on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.
Slice the Alexis de Portneuf La Sauvagine Cheese and distribute over the toasted bread, then top with sliced pears. Cover with prosciutto. Broil for 3 to 5 minutes, just until the cheese melts and the prosciutto colors in spots.
Transfer the toasts to serving plates. Garnish each serving with a drizzle of spicy honey, a sprinkle of chopped almonds, and some fresh basil leaves. Serve right away.
